Selected portraits

When I was a professional interviewer, my role was to create a space where truth could be revealed.  Participants often entered fearful, guarded and unsure what would happen. They usually left feeling lightened – feeling heard and understood.  This is how I approach portraiture – negotiating what can and will be shared, what will be seen. I’m not saying that I capture a visual moment of truth, but rather, when the feeling passes between us that a bargain is agreed, the shutter is released.
